Now that I have a child I take continuing ed classes, attend mandatory trainings, spend time with DS and try to get in the majority of my medical appointments. I also make a list of things I need to do around the house and try to get through it by the end of the summer. August comes quickly and there are always things left on the list that I haven't gotten to yet.
DH complains when I do any kind of shopping since no income is coming in, but one of my favorite things to do in the summer is spend hours walking around a store like TJMaxx or Homegoods in the middle of the day. Just a guilty pleasure.

My aunt was a teacher and she was the directot of a sleep away camp ( in charge of managing the counselors, schedulin activities, etc) Her kids got to go all summer for free and then worked at the camp as lifeguards.
other teachers that I know work summer school or tutor.

Well if you didn't charge $60 plus per hour maybe someone would consider it. If you don't make that much per hour during the school year, I don't understand why I need to pay so much more.
