this explains why so many of the Brent kids are in Algebra I in 5th grade at Basis. I was wondering. My husband had to teach our kid over the summer................

PP teacher here. I neglected to share that I only lead my instructional math block four times a week. If I lead it five times, I would be able to see two groups three times a week, and two groups twice a week. I should also mention that I have 20+ students in a primary class by myself. If I had less than 20, I would be able to change my schedule and meet with groups at least four times a week. Even though it's sometimes challenging, I really enjoy having heterogeneously grouped classes.

I totally think there should be ability by classes. Doubt DCPS would ever do it though.
