- I don't have your best interest at heart, and if I have to choose, I'll make a decision that's convenient for me
-I think children should be spanked and beaten into submission.
-I have a gambling habit
-I lie about things all the time, even when the truth is a better story
-you're last on my list
-we're NOT just friends, and we'll continue to screw around in spite of my public commitment to you
-I'm irresponsible
-I promise everything and deliver nothing
-I'm probably in the spectrum of several cluster B personality disorders

I am addicted to purchasing expensive useless gadgets that I believe will improve my life because I am gullible in that way.

This thread is incorrectly title - most of it is things you couldn't possibly have known before you were married.

For me, there wasn't anything my DH hadn't told me before the wedding. It was only years later that we learned he had ADHD/depression, that he'd suffer from ED at age 45 and, faced with the decision, he couldn't take his father off life support.

I really don't use toilet paper.

Honey, in my culture, we have no boundaries, and parents own you. My mother the narcissistic hoarder will one day tell us she's moving in with us and taking over our life. You won't know this beforehand, because I both lied and kept you away from them for years.

Also, I'm never going to grow up.

At first I will act as though you giving me a home haircut is a one time thing, then I will never visit a barber for the rest of our marriage.

I like the idea of lawn care more than the reality of maintaining it.

I think it's sad. My DH is far from perfect but there are some really f'ed up marriages described here.

Oh god get over yourself. People are just being brutally honest is all. There are good things about the spouse that they aren't mentioning here. Nothing about marriage is black and white.

If you don't see anything sad in this thread and think this is the norm, I really feel for you.

Keep your faux concern. The rest of us have our eyes wide open and probably have more honest and durable marriages.

Same here.

Same here. He told me things by his actions that I should have listened to and didn't. I think that's pretty common.

I'm just pretending to like a neat home, and to do my fair share of cleaning and cooking. As soon as we're married, I'm not doing any of it anymore.

I know you don't care but I felt disgusting each time for a solid year. Please try and realize its super super hard for me.

Yup. I registered one of the complaints above, and still the good outweighs the bad. In fact, I guess I'm glad she didn't tell me before the wedding because I probably would've bailed and missed out on a good thing.
