And no, it is not more "shallow" to value looks rather than money or status.

I think both men and women mostly judge on appearances.

It's just that woman prefer different things, like height and sort of an impressive and competent appearance. Those are still "looks." A woman will tolerate being slightly out of shape from a tall and strong looking man who dresses we'll and gives off a vibe of competence, but being tall and strong are still a part of your appearance.

Put in effort - in bed, around the house, with your appearance. Dress nicely and smell good. Be well groomed. Be a gentleman. Be patient. Be kind.

I look for a man what I'd look for in a woman friend too- someone who is kind, lacks drama, is intelligent, and is fun to be around.

I don't expect you to make some huge effort to look hot but at least care about your health and have a presentable appearance (clean, normally dressed, not obese, smells ok).

And you don't have to be some sort of super high earner but at least care and have a plan for your career.

And if you have kids, I just want you to care about them, their futures, and be engaged with them.

Same with me- just care. It's the little things that count- little kindnesses, showing you care.

Be kind to others. Show empathy to those who deserve it.

Have a great sense of humor. Nothing is more attractive in a man than the ability to make people laugh on cue.

Practice common sense and use it wisely.

Based on the two threads, men and women want the same thing: partners who are not fat. When a man suggests such a thing, he's a pig. When a woman suggests such a thing, she's a woman.
