Texting creates false intimacy. Unless its with your committed SO, it comes off as a player. Beware.

I love him for it.

While we were dating DH started a habit of saying "good morning beautiful" every day to me, in person or text. It made him stand out among a crowd of intimacy-fearing DC losers as a caring person. Sometimes when he wakes up in the middle of the night he says it in his sleep. Just to make sure, he says.

so it depends on context, op.

What is your DH like the other times of the day? And in general in your relationship? What are the downsides ? I hope you don't mind me asking. I am trying to figure out what type of guy is best for me next time around, and this kindness sounds wonderful. I am curious about the whole picture though. Thanks.

Beware those that lay it on thick.....

I once called a guy out on his mass "good morning" text and I was right. He sent them to every girl in his phone.

I think it depends on the boyfriend. It can be a really nice thing when it's the right person.

PP here: We've only been together for a couple of months but we both came out of really crappy long term relationships before meeting each other. He knows that my last boyfriend treated me like shit all the time and that I never got anything even remotely close to a good morning text so he's really put in the effort to make me happy.

Is no one picking up that he sent her a text about the child having trouble getting to school????

Really? This is now a question about what a forum thinks? Where is your judgment?

The difference here is that it's your boyfriend. Not a random guy who drops in and out of your life.

It's all part of a big ploy. He probably even has a computer program to send these texts to every woman he's ever met, to see who bits back. Run -- he's trouble!
