Same as the original poster but we attend Powell.
Same for our family, and we are at HD Cooke.

I am so thankful that I didn't pay too much attention to the commute issues, went with my gut and didn't trust DCPS to create good schools out of bad. After several years, the nearby DCPS schools haven't gotten any better, I've seen promises made and broken over and over, and the quality in the upper grades (not preschool to kindergarten) remains pretty terrible. The commute has been an issue at times, as the school, which has moved, has at times been 45 minutes to an hour away during rush hour, but it has been well worth it to see my child getting such a great education. On the other hand, I could easily see how that may not be true for everyone. Just something to think about.
Which school(s)?
I'm curious whether the experiences people share represent different views of the same schools or possibly differences between schools.
We got into a HRCS, and the DCPS schools that I am comparing to are most of the eastern Ward 2 and northern Ward 6 schools.
