No way this house goes for less than $800. They could have listed much higher.

BTW, Cestari tends to price lower than market, which is a great strategy--there is a lot of interest and multiple bids.

I thought it was zoned Shepherd-Deal-Coolidge, BUT if you went to Deal you were guaranteed entrance to Wilson. Not sure how that changed, if at all.

I guess DC is a far different world, where $200k salaries are thrown around like candy -- or do we just have a bunch of people subsidized by Mom/Dad or living above their means?

Yes. Right now it's zoned Shepherd-Deal-Coolidge, but as you said attending Deal guarantees entrance to Wilson. After the boundary revisions go through, Shepherd Park/Colonial Village will be zoned Shepherd-Deal-Wilson.

But can you count on nothing being rezoned by the time your kids enter high school?

Even with a $200K salary people will be struggling to buy a $800k house, if you also need childcare, savings and some quality of life.

I spoke to another knowledgeable Ward 4 parent recently, and they mentioned that the new boundary revisions should be in place for the standard time frame of 10 years.

So if you have a baby now you have no idea if they will be able to go to Wilson when the time comes. The only way to be sure about that is to actually live near Wilson.
