Nothing yet... Just ignoring the problem, pretending it didn't happen, leaving her supporters swinging in the breeze to deflect and pass the buck. No signs of any clear leadership to be found anywhere.

I do wonder if Bowser will take any responsibility for the roads not being better cleared.

The 'kids gotta eat' excuse is nonsense. For one, the kids don't show up. Secondly, when they do , they rarely if ever eat the school lunch. That's in part due to the fact that they have a ton of snacks and junk food in their backpacks over half the time.

Besides, DCPS should focus on serving as a SCHOOL-not a soup kitchen .

DCPS is the most DYSFUNCTIONAL school system I've ever taught in! I live in Anne Arundel County so my commute this morning was 2.5 hours (didn't get in until 9:30), to have 10 out of 27 students. They never take into account the over half of their teachers/staff DO NOT LIVE IN THE CITY!! How can we even afford to!?!
I get it-the children need to eat. So set up feeding stations like every other urban metropolis and be considerate of the people that sacrifice so much by being in these classrooms everyday and all of the outside work that we do!
And they wonder why people are fleeing this system...tuh.

It was TWO INCHES OF SNOW! No sleet. No wind shears. No earthquake. No flooding. Snow so dry it blew off the top of my used Honda after a couple of minutes. I slogged through worse as a student during the rainy season in a country without a metro or public buses.

Delays just give more families reasons to keep their kids home. Why trudge through snow or wait nearly an hour for a bus if you just have to head back in a few hours?

Beyond the need for food for those in need who, by law, should be feed at school, there is value in teaching resilience to all students in these situations.

You go to school because you can, not just when it's convenient.

In too many parts of the world children get killed or abused just for trying to go to school. Others are denied any education at all because of their skin color, gender, or class. There are also children who used to have access to an education who are displaced from their homes due to human conflict or natural disasters. Then there are millions of children who walk for hours to get to and from schools that welcome them.

Two hours delay in the capital of the most powerful nation on earth for two inches of snow without ice? Seriously?

Be thankful that the lack of apology from an official was the worst of your problems today.
