Not tacky, who keeps baby stuff for 15 years? That's not realistic at all.

I would think a person throwing their own shower is tacky regardless of if it's the first kid, 2nd kid, age gap, other gender, etc. but if someone else is throwing this shower it's really not a huge deal and I'd be happy to attend.

Not at all! I had a child at 19. I was miserable and terrified-I couldn't get an abortion because I literally didn't know what an abortion was, my dad wouldn't speak to me, and I had to switch to part-time school with frequent days off. My aunt threw me a baby shower where I received a small blanket and several used pacifiers, then a church donation of a crib. 14 years later, I got pregnant again with my husband, got a bunch of stuff, and had so much fun. It was like a fresh start-I had a new baby, a new family, and lots of new friends. Then four years later (now) we had another shower for my baby who's due in February, and got some gifts but mostly tried to make it about having fun. Good luck, OP! Congrats!

Remind me to never, ever invite any of you that think this is tacky to anything.

Another baby after fifteen years has got to be a pretty momentous thing, IMO. Maybe this baby is a surprise. Maybe not. It's definitely worthy of a celebration and a congratulations (which, by the way, DCUM, EVERY mother to be deserves to hear regardless of her age or financial circumstances).

I wouldn't mind this. This shower has a guest list of over 50 and it has registry info.

FWIW, I did put together a small registry because people were asking what we needed. It was a list of items we no longer had - we had kept quite a bit, though, as we had always hoped to have a second child, it just took longer than we ever imagined.

Our old swing, bouncy seat and stationary side convertible crib work just fine, though.

If someone else hosts it's not tacky. I was almost eleven and my mom had a shower when she was pregnant with my brother. If I'd been 2 it would have been tacky.

+1. I have a friend in the same situition and called to find out the date of the shower. They did a registry. I am buying a couple of cases of Pampers as my way of saying congrats!

What's the big deal? You don't like it then keep your a$$ at home.

Me, too. I almost always find second showers tacky, and was asked by my best friend if I wanted one (opposite sex, five years later) and said no. But I think this is fine.

I tend to be extremely generous with shower gifts and find it a bit greedy to go for a second round of presents. I have never attended second showers, sprinklers, etc. But because these are 15 years apart, I don't consider it quite as bad as the ladies who want more gifts one year after their first shower. I probably wouldn't go but might consider sending a small gift.
