Subject: How much time off for a stillborn baby?
I was physically "ready" to go back to work after 2 wks, probably only part-time though. Took the whole 6wks off because healing/mourning process was difficult. Everyone experiences loss differently. Some can compartmentalize and move on, some GRIEVE hard and need a lot of support.
OP, I hate that this sort of thing happens in life, but know that there are others who have experienced it and can guide you through it.
If you are judging someone else this happened to, please don't... it's different for everyone. It's a child that person never got to know... something to grieve for sure.

Um, just curious, why is everyone assuming OP is the one who had a stillbirth? This post is on the Jobs board, not a parenting board. Not ot mention that they didn't mention having had one. Seems like a coworker or something to me.

Hugs to you OP (and to all of you that have gone through this). I can't even imagine.
I would take the six weeks but take it one day at a time. Sometimes work serves as a good distraction and you might decide to go back earlier because of that (this is based on my experience with a death in the family and I actually felt relieved to go back to work after being out for some time).
