Um, yeah, that's the point. Kids these days have all of those PLUS computer, video games, etc

Like the PP, I also had a tough freshman-1st semester sophomore time and failed out. In retrospect, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was so immature when I went to college (a good college BTW) and couldn't handle the freedom. I spent a semester at home, worked at a low-wage job, took two community college classes (A's in both) and reapplied. I had to literally beg the Dean to let me back in. It's quite some time later but I have 2 graduate degrees and have had 2 successful careers. Failing is sometimes the best thing that can happen. Good luck to your DC!
