yes. we've had several at our Club and its lovely to have staff to help set up and clean up! As members we don't pay a room rental fee, so its pretty economical. we've had a tennis party which all the kids loved - especially in winter!

We are not member of a country club but many of our kids' friends' families are. It's fairly common in Bethesda. I don't mind it until they get to a certain age when our kids started asking why we are not member of one.

A few bowling parties at cc's - some even hosted by non-members

My kids have been to a few, my oldest has been to three this year. Makes sense to me.

We belong to a club and would love to have a birthday party there for our DD. But, she really wants Shadowlands, so it's off to Franconia road we go.

As I kid (I grew up here and went to private school) there were a few country club birthday parties. I later found out my mother was a little concerned since I was one of the only black kids in attendance, but there were never any problems- everyone was normal and it was fun.

I have a different take than the poster who worries that some folks may feel "uncomfortable." It is the perfect opportunity to let some kids experience something so that it wont be some place they feel uncomfortable as they grow up. Makes a CC just another forum for a party.

We're at a public school but have been to several parties at CC pools. It seems completely reasonable to use the space there if you are a member rather than renting space somewhere else.
