The joke was that she didn't know history even though she's the President's daughter. Not exactly what you are leading people to believe.

Thanks for the reminder. I just remember that she got a lot of ugly attention. The people on here who think the Obama girls have been treated badly have no clue.

Yes I agree.

Eh. Malia is tall and skinny. As a former tall and skinny teen with long legs, it's actually really hard to find skirts and dresses that don't look too short, because the skirts that are short enough to fit your hips are shorter because they are a smaller size.

When the Obama girls graduate from high school, I hope they do like Chelsea Clinton did and go to college as far away from the DC area and its political cesspool as soon as they can.

Jeez, people, this is their sixth turkey pardoning, and they are kids.

1. The woman was out of line to write what she did.
2. Obama should not have made his daughters attend a public event.
3. Lots of Presidential daughters have had similar statements. It's not unique to the Obama girls.

"Dug their own graves?"

Are you shocked to find out that the girls actually did smile? Well, they did. Maybe we should start calculating the percentage of time girls are supposed to smile while in front of the camera.

The looks on both girls faces in multiple photos told the tale. In this situation, they dug their own graves, though I don't think I'd write about it like the woman did.

Palin's young girls had some nasty things said about them. And because it was Palin's girls, no one seemed to care.

So I'm not sure I care what's said about Obama's girls by anyone.

Me too. Appropriate for many occasions, but not a white house event, even a stupid one.

Lauter's comments were even sillier than us spending three pages talking about them.

They were adults, and they were breaking laws. I don't think a hemline or a facial expression would have been newsworthy for either of them.

Letterman is a comedian. Lauter works for a politician. There is an unwritten rule about politicians including children in political digs about their parent(s).
