Criteria, OP?
I mean the most respected overall, hardest to get into. Just generally considered the most prestigious and exclusive.
Burning Tree. You don't ask to be invited. They ask you.
On what basis? How do they even know who exists and why they want to invite them to join? Are all the members politicians or prominent lobbyists, doctors, law firm partners? (Obviously I am not a country club person. Also female so even if I were POTUS, would not get an invitation.)
I also wonder what the point is of a country club but that's for another thread ...

Compared to The Chevy Chase Club, Bethesda and Columbia are so nouveau.

Does Burning tree even count?
And I heard someone on here saying that they drove through burning tree and saw a bunch of old men playing golf with their shirts off. Not exactly top quality country club material to me
but you won;t see any women there doing that.
It would be more interesting if they did.
Well I'd like that if they did. And they were young. And fit. Wait . . . Such a place does not really exist does it.
You are gross.

If women were ever allowed to golf there, maybe they would.

Exactly. I think of burning tree more as a men's golf club, not a country club. I dont think it qualifies as being in the elite anymore, it's been left behind. I wouldnt even put it in top 5.
