Just looked at craigslist and went on interviews for a part time job. Every single place said they couldn't find people to even come into an interview. Happily surprised after reading another thread on here saying on every place pays minimum wage. Well, I guess if you ask for it, you get that.
Oil fields are booming and can't find people to fill 100k+ jobs.
Some folks are just lazy and looking for a handout.
Those $100k/year jobs are still skilled jobs though. You can't just be handy with a shovel and get those jobs.

Container store pays more than normal. $13+
Small catering company I worked for paid $15 hour for front desk work, part time Monday to friday mornings. Extra pay for creating menus or if I kept track of the kitchen employees.
Grocery stores tend to pay well.
Best friend Worked at a Dog vet for $15 hour front desk receptionist and had great M to F hours. I know she washed dogs for a few months when the groomer quit. That she made $20hr but she didn't like getting dirty. I even thought about taking that type of work on weekends.
