What am I wrong about? RM wasn't under capacity last year? If the RM PTA wants to ask for an addition, they should.

Ignore the Einstein troll. He/she shows up in every thread about DCC schools and trashes Einstein. When asked about personal experience with the school, troll conveniently doesn't reply.
NP here - I think PP is right though. Einstein is not one of the super performing schools in MCPS
Either is RM. QO has better test scores across the board without any IB program, especially with diverse students. So take the 17% of the smartest kids MC and throw their test scores out and RM looks horrible. Adding Fallsgrove doesn't make RM that much better. More than half the kids in the SFH go to private school.
I don't think that's true. I think for the Black/Hispanic students, the test scores between the two schools are pretty comparable, at least as far as the MSA scores are concerned, with RM students scoring slightly better.
And you're right, adding Fallsgrove wouldn't make RM any better because Fallsgrove is not the only high income area zoned for RM.
But you are taking into account the IB program that QO does not have. Over 15% of the population. What do you think the scores would look like without them? I think RM has gotten slightly better since the 70/80's but lets not kid ourselves. You still have the same neighborhoods going to them. Overpopulating with some new home developments doesn't add much. The high SES send their kids to privates and many people move into the new condos/apartments. They are not high SES by any means. Just adds to the overcrowding of the cluster.

Soooooo don't you think RM will be very over capacity in 1-2 more years even though it was JUST built? Poor planning. Not to mention that the Town Center and Park Potomac are STILL building!! And nothing in the cluster has started yet. They are still begging for funds and start dates. You are looking at minimum 3-4 years for anything to get completed.
Please try to come out on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00 to the RM Cluster testimony on the CIP Budget before the Board of Education - this is where we advocate for construction funds for RMES #5, the JW addition, and a feasibility study for an addition at RM.

Well hate to burst your bubble but less white, less affluent, less native born = lower test scores, more resources used on FARMS, ESL, and less attention your average kid is going to get in the classroom. It also equals more crime, higher taxes and a decrease in real estate prices. So you can cry racism but MC has a lot to be concerned about that more affluent white people are leaving (7% decrease since 2000) and the increase in poor hispanics is 3x the amount since 1995. SES makes a big difference in a school district and community.

No RM is not overcapacity and I have seen nothing about any plan to add to it. Agreed they have overcrowded the cluster. Julius West MS is very over capacity and getting an addition. All the ESs in the cluster are also crowded.

What Common Core disaster? The Common Core is standards. Also, the State of Maryland adopted them.
45+ states have adopted the CC standards. Even states that claim they haven't adopted it have done so in some way shape or form, including VA:
