Why would they change the formulation rather than just give the new color its own name?

Just had a room painted. Used Ben Moore White Dove in semi gloss for the trim. It is definitely whiter than it was previously. I still like it though.

In November 2104, Benjamin Moore marketed their new White Dove formulation. The new formula has less black and more yellow now.I found this out when buying more White Dove for our trim, and learned of the new whiter color formulation.


Interesting. I always thought White Dove was too gray. We have BM Chantilly Lace on our trim, but we were looking for a clear, classic white.
