Just smaller classes, or allow aids in the classroom. 25 kindergarteners with one teacher just sucks. BCC cluster.

I would love for foreign language instruction to be part of the curriculum starting in early elementary school.

The majority of my "on level" 9th graders are reading below level - as low as 1st grade.

You can't write unless you know how to read.

I just spent an entire planning period yesterday snapping photos of writing samples for my 272s and upcoming IEP meetings.

I am an English teacher with no special ed background.

PP here- meant * younger grades.

1) Smaller class sizes
2) Better training for teachers
3) Smarter teachers (not those hired for quota purposes)
4) More recess
5) Limit technology/screen time/ chrome
access in you her grades
6) Slower pace and teachers have more
flexibility to incorporate old curriculum/
hands-on projects
7) Leave middle and high school curriculum alone
8) Fire Starr

help our small, decaying elementary school. we know other schools are more overcapacity than us, but really, take a look!!

What I want to actually see is the promised enrichment and acceleration in math. At 4th, you're either on grade level or you're in compacted math. The differentiation is way too limited everywhere, but particularly in math. The system is very schizophrenic when it comes to grouping. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes they consider it tracking.

We are in the RM cluster, and my DC's 1st grade class has 26 kids. It's not just limited to the W clusters.

-A clear list of the supposed "international standards" they cited for the creation of Curriculum 2.0.
-Agree with a previous poster on clear syllabi/syllabuses for each grade, and what the milestones are for each learning unit
-A clear explanation, in layman's English, of what the MAP-M, MAP-R, and other standardized tests are testing in our kids. NOT a reference to the state of Maryland website--which is not clear at all
-A clear explanation of the grading system utilizing ES, P, and I. The teachers sure as hell don't understand it, and can't articulate it to the parents
-Allow the teachers to write comments and a summary on their report cards about the student, like they used to
-Increase the parent-teacher conference length to 20 mins--and allow us the option to meet via Webex, phone, or NetMeeting. Report cards and comments can be sent via email. While parent-teacher face to face is nice--let's allow parents and these teachers these options so that there is flexibility for everyone to work together
-Increase physical education to twice a week
