Oh man I miss that Sara Lee Coffee Cake. Same, my mom bought it for special morning occasions.

OMG this was my dad's favorite.

Yes! Me too!

I was going to ask if anyone knew if you can still but those cupcakes anywhere?
I still love the coconut one and the golden one w/ chocolate frosting, even though I don’t even like chocolate!

They’re surprisingly good!
Nothing will outdo Sara Lee frozen pound cake for me. It doesn’t even taste like food, yet it’s sooo good.

I still look every now and then to see if they have the German Chocolate Pepperidge Farm Cake in the freezer at the grocery store. I haven't see it in a loooong time. If I could, I have had that as my wedding cake. I could eat a whole one in sitting. BEST CAKE EVER.

Good Humor brought back Viennetta. It should be in your local grocery store.

My grandmother baked almost every day from scratch but used to buy us the conoconut cake on days she couldn’t bake. I think especially on Sunday because she baked in the morning but Sunday morning was or church and Sunday afternoon was for the market. The Sara Lee pound cake with fresh whipped cream and berries was another one.

I love the golden cake with chocolate frosting. And the coconut one is good also. Definitely a guilty pleasure. I thought I was the only one that secretly love them. Now I know there are a few of us!

Pepperidge Farm used to have a white cake with coconut frosting and lemon filling. I loved it, and still long for just one more taste of it. I also really miss the Sara Lee Pecan Coffee Cake that we had for Sunday breakfast when I was a kid.

I love the chocolate fudge cake. I bought it once when we were on a beach vacation, and my kids were like, "Why didn't you buy this sooner?"

I’m 59, I remember my mom and grandma buying them every week, Sara Lee Pound Cakes, Pepperidge Farm German Chocolate, Coconut Cream- those were the favorites. I been buying them in different places, states and I feel they taste old and dry. I wanted my grandkids to taste and enjoy these treats as I did but… 😳
Is there any way to go back to the original recipes please. It is a shame spending time and effort in producing a tasteless treat. Wouldn’t it be better to keep the classic one, I’m sure you would have many more sales than you do now.

Wow -- you revived a really old thread!

Unfortunately, I doubt they'll ever go back to those old recipes -- it's too easy to buy cakes elsewhere these days.

I'm going to have to try these Pepperidge Farm cakes. My mom was perpetually dieting and didn't like to keep sweets in the house, but once in awhile we would get the Entenmann's variety pack of donuts. I always had dibs on the crumb ones!
