Do the school resource officers ever speak at assemblies to kids or to the mandatory 10th grade health education classes? It seems that even if no arrests are made, a regular friendly presence of police officers in school would be a deterrent. Even just parking a squad car or two in the front parking lot would cause dealers to think there were police at the school.

They are in the school all day, except when they go to feeder middle schools. The kids know who they are.

That is definitely a place in my DD's school that dealing is done. I guess kids figure it is the one place in the school that does not have security cameras. My child avoids the bathrooms as much as possible.
