Why do you assume God created the Ebola virus in the first place? Thats like asking why did God create rapists? Maybe God did not create them. Maybe they were created by mankind's actions. Who knows.

But if God did create it, maybe to test mankind. Maybe to see who would help poor countries where Ebola is spreading, or to test the victims families reaction,...

I didn't see anyone as avoiding your question. I think people said these are all tests, so one should deduce that if Ebola was created by God, it may have been to test all of us in different ways.

If you can not accept Gods existence, none of this will make any sense. So you will have to find other ways to deal with human tragedies.

If you believe in God, you know what I am taking about. And you feel empowered.

Everyone seems to be avoiding the question. Why did God create the Ebola virus?

If the Ebola virus was never created then God would not need to stop it.

The topic of Satan is not popular in our secular society, but the truth is, he is alive and well. He loves to throw things like ebola at us which harm us in body and more importantly in soul.

No. There is no Satan. There is only God. And God is doing exactly what God does. We grow physically and spiritually through difficulty. There is no way to become more compassionate without going through hardship. There is no way to learn love without experiencing hatred. There can be no healing without injury. Our Universe is one of balance. As humans, our work is to become more like our God, whatever name you give Him. In doing so, we create a more compassionate world.

God is just being God. He can provide love, comfort, and peace. But He cannot prevent suffering in this world. If He could, He would
.

NP here. I thought god was omnipotent? Not bring snarky, but I don't understand thd idea that god is benevolent and knows and created all, but can't stop that serial killer from killing or that drunk driver from slamming into a stroller. Either god can control everything of not.

I don't think Christians's God is omnipotent in that way; he can not contradict itself/ his nature for one thing.

Is it any better to think that there is no reason for suffering " shit happens" vs thinking there is a reason but we don't know it " God's ways are not our ways" ?

It's simple. God brings the good stuff. The devil brings the bad stuff. Medical science cures disease, unrelated to the religion of the scientists the doctors or the patients.

God works in mysterious ways.

the devil?

What's the lesson one learns from being raped?

or from knowing your child was raped?

This is utter bullshit. No god would expect an 8 yo to learn a lesson after being destroyed by a sick fuck.

"Oh honey - it's OK! It's God's will! Let's see where there's a lesson in this. never mind that you'll be haunted by this act for the rest of your life . . . "

But is the devil limited to what God has created? Or can the devil create life on his own?

PP, it all depends on the faith. Not in our faith though.

Then why did God create the Ebola Virus? To love and comfort us?

Ebola is a part of our world, just like every other living thing. Our physical environment is constantly changing. Sometime that works out well for humans and sometimes, not so much.

But as long as he sends us to heaven for eternity, we'll believe in him, twisting ourselves into pretzels, if needed, to try to understand his ways.

There must be a lesson in there somewhere

So God has nothing to do with the creation of Earth and the living things on it?
