OP here. Just saw this thread got revived! We only do dry-cleaning every 6 weeks (in the winter we can stretch it to 8) and its a combination of 4 suits, some cry clean on cardigans and some silk shells. I know its crazy!
Not to mention, if you're drycleaning woman's apparel it adds up so quickly. The other week, 3 of my dresses cost more than the cost of drycleaning 15 men's shirts for DH. Sigh ... being a working woman costs so much more!
Zips or a similar shop for day to day cleaning, $2 per dry cleaned item, coats are 5$ i think. 3 dresses=6$. 15 shirts = ~18$ (1.19 each I believe) Unless it's precious specialty items with beading or suede you're overpaying big time. If you drop off at a small mom & pop storefront without a plant on premices, they are most likely taking the items to a cheap centralized place to clean and marking it up 50% for convenience of dropping off near your house/work.
