I wish we were zoned for Rock View, but we're one over. OP, the grass is always greener!
Are you at highland?
We will be next year.

Anonymous wrote:OP here. This has been very informative. Thank you all for your advice and experience. As I said, this is all new to us so it's all helpful. I will definitely look closer at Rock View and am encouraged to hear more positive things about it.
To the posters with children there, do you know if Rock View also has paraeducator or aides in the classroom?

I have a friend with a kid there who had heard it was a 'bad' school but now her DD is in first grade there and she loves it. The Mom is very happy with the teachers and the school in general.

Fortunately, I did manage to be fairly successful, and will send my kids to Wayside ES. Hopefully, they will have much better experiences than I had.

DS is a few years away from school yet, but we're trying to decide if we should move into a different school district. Based on some parent feedback, I'd rather he attend the school in the next boundary over, but I don't know if that's even possible and if so, how hard you have to fight for it.
OP, for what it's worth, if you want to move to a different school district, you will have to move to a different county or state. There is only one school district in Montgomery County: Montgomery County Public Schools.
