Thank you for this endorsement. I love tubs and taking baths. I have converted one tub into a tub/shower with glass doors. I was contemplating what to do with another bathroom that is being remodelled. I do not like just a shower, but was told that tub is a "dated look". I am now convinced that I should keep the tub.

Definitely tub. At least one of the upstairs bathrooms (apart from master) needs a tub for kids baths.

We also have considered but ultimately rejected putting offers on two houses in large part because they didn't have a tub in the upstairs hall bathroom. I don't want to bring my small kids in my master to bathe them. Our agent was really perplexed why these houses didn't do tubs in the hall bath -- he says its a basic rule. He said we could replace the large showers with a tub/shower combo but we'd probably be looking at about $5K cost.
