My daughter's name is Ivy! This thread makes me much happier than that awful "Is Ivy a stripper name" thread which appeared a few months after her birth.
I adore the name, obviously, and people tell me all the time that they love it, too. Only one person has ever said anything about poison ivy, and he was about 9 years old.

I agree that Rae has a bit of a country vibe to it. Maybe because of Norma Rae? Blake is OK, although the flow seems a bit off to me.

Agree. And "Ivy Blake" is just bad: doesn't flow, doesn't sound good, the two names have completely different vibes. Back to the drawing board for the middle name!

I also love this name. It actually was almost DD's name, but DH preferred another name I liked as much so we went with that.
The nice thing about Ivy is that its not too off-the-wall but you don't hear it every day either. I'm surprised to hear others think it's a stripper name -- I've never made that association. I tend to think of it as a relatively classic name that has been around for a long time.

Honestly, I don't like the name-- it just seems sort of off to me, like why would someone want to name their kid after poison ivy? It doesn't seem like a serious name at all.
That being said, I actually know FOUR Ivy's-- two adults and two babies, both born and names BEFORE Beyonce's child.
