Yeah, they trust me about the perfect amount. I could probably get away with a lot of stuff, but I'm not really a bad kid per se, so I don't. But I'm sure if I were bad, they would be more strict or trust me less.

^^What kind of stuff are you talking about?

Drinking, partying, etc.

I was very shy growing up and had a very small number of friends even though I knew many people from playing on sports teams. I didn't "hangout" after school or on weekends with other kids - I always worked. Looking back I think this was my way of hiding that I didn't really have anyone one to hang out with.

When do kids drop the one-on-one playdates and hangout in groups?

When is a good age to drop a kid off at the mall with a few other kids?

Kind of. I'd say our English department is the strongest and most recognized, but there are plenty of opportunities for STEM as well.

Anonymous wrote:When do most kids start getting driver's licenses? When I was a kid, everyone was at the DMV the first day they were eligible.

Depends. Most of my friends who live in more car-centric areas got them as soon as they could. Others, who live in areas where they can walk to mostly everywhere they need to go or metro, got them later. But mostly everyone I knew had their license before age 18, even if they didn't drive often.

Get involved with a variety of activities, have a solid group of friends but also friends in other "groups" so that way you're not friendless if your friends decide to ditch you, and be yourself! And Instagram and iPhones and snapchat aren't necessarily bad things, but spending too much time on them/letting them consume your life IS.

Do all 17 years old have a boyfriend or girlfriend?

What do you think of kids who are not dating in HS?

No, not at all. I would say maybe 10% of my friends have.

No. Very few, actually.

I think it's...good. Well, that's probably not the best word but I don't know, unless it's someone you really really like I don't see the point.

NP, FTM. Thank God!!! Thanks for sharing OP!

Yeah, honestly, for the life I want to live renting makes a lot more sense. I prefer cities, and in general, most people can't afford to buy a house in a big city right after college unless their job is incredibly high paying. Though I can definitely see myself owning a car.

Hmmm. Yes, I think so. I've never been into that kind of stuff and I do think it is much less prevalent at my school than others, but I also know that IF I were into it, it's there. It's not like going to a private all-girls school can keep someone away from it totally if that's what they what.

I do have friends who go to public school. The main difference I see is...I don't know, sophistication? That's probably not the right word, but just in talking styles, confidence, poise, etc. it seems like that's something private schools do really well. I'm probably going to sound like a teen here, but much less ratchet and basic.'

Yikes, I guess I'm really old now and my kids won't been teens for a long time, but what does "ratchet and basic" mean?

I wonder if OP realizes she totally just gave away what school she goes to?

No, I'd say very few have tattoos. I know of no one.

I have my ears pierced. Most people have those pierced, and maybe 10% have other piercings like belly button/nose/etc.
