Well there's the problem. If it angers you that DCUMs can't pronounce it, here's a hint: not many in real life will be able to either!

Thank you. There is another thread on the name Zora and someone said it reminded them of Dora the explorer.
Apparently it is isn't 50 Shades of Grey (which is widely mocked and therefore we can assune widely read by DCUM) it isn't being read.

This is hysterical.

Who said it was Duhsheel? But it's very similar to the other typically-AA names.

Tell me you don't think "whitey" nane when you hear Tiffany, Britney, Buffy, and so on?

Actually no, it's DASH-ee-ul.

Either is correct and in fact the writer of the Maltese Falcon pronounced it Dash-ul.

Either way it is not Duh-Sheel.

Exactly. I expect Dashiell to be playing for the Giants.

I think this issue is you guys have no idea how to pronounce the name and that is from where your racists comments stem.

It is not Duh-sheel which I can see how ignorant peolple might assume it is a "black name"

It is pronounced Dash-ul

You are a complete idiot. "One white guy" who happens to be the only person most people imagine when they hear the name Dashiell. If you have an education, anyway.

Who are the black Dashiells?

I think Dashiell - aka Dash - is the new hip trendy name.

I don't hate it but your child will be sharing the name with lots of other kids and the name will be vintage 2013.

Ignorance reigns supreme on this board. What is a "black' name? I'd say using the phrase "black name" is a low rent comment.
Get educated. The most famous Dashiell is Dashiell Hammett, a white American author most famous for the Maltese Falcon.
