Although Avatar was not a great movie, we saw it in Imax and the stunning panoramic views of the landscape, flying and animation were spectacular and stayed with me. Some of it was possitively breathtaking.

Mr. Holland's Opus stays with me as the story got me on a visceral level.
As did Ordinary People.

The reason that some of us suggest big hits and blockbusters is that OP did not specify what she has seen and what she hasn't, nor any genre. So we suggest anything that "made our jaws drop". If she had said she had seen all the big movies and was looking for less renowned works, we'd suggest more of those.

Well, Gladiator was big, but I don't remember it staying with me. I want to see it again now because I think I was distracted the first time, and I had a hard time with his family/kid/whatever happened to them... Gladiator poster, what was it about the movie? Haunting?

It is so raw and real and they did a great job showing all the restraints and things that could not be spoken which can be hard to get from the books sometimes because it's just not our lives anymore.
