"Based on chrysanthemums" = a synthetic version of a chemical that is found in low concentrations in chrysanthemums. Not to mention that some plant compounds are highly toxic to humans, regardless of how "natural" it is to derive said compounds from a flower. Certain types of fruit, for example the soursop, are delicious and as "natural" as the chrysanthemum, but are also neurotoxic.
You can't take the person selling you something's word for it. Do the research and you'll see synthetic pyrethroids are bad news. The new study showing a link to autism is a good place to start.
