I think the underlying issue is that people tend to assume a man has more responsibility and control over his life, so when a man complains about being mistreated, there is little sympathy. Women are perceived as having less control and responsibility, so they get a shoulder to cry on.

I haven't read other posts by this poster, that I know of. How are you all getting that he's being abused and cheated on by some monster of a wife? How do you know he's not one of those passive-aggressive wimps who talks to his mom for hours every day and creates drama and makes his wife out to be some kind of overbearing beast?
