DS (5 years old) has been doing Junior R.O.C.S camp through Parktakes since 06/23. We schedule the same one for every week, same location. He absolutely loves it! The counselors are great, very energetic and watch over these kids like hawks. DS will be there through the end of July and then he is off to camp Grandma in sunny California

My rising first grader has been loving KAH camp as well (Rock View location, bussed there from Banneker). There seems to be lots of variety and special things every day, with good field trips. We will return next year, although hopefully without the bus (necessary this year because of school construction at Burtonsville).

Good morning to all!

I would like to recommend to you the summer camps at the French Academy. The skill level of your children in French language does not matter since we adapt the activities to each of our child thanks to 3 native French and experienced teachers.

French immersion enables the kids to learn quickly and become more aware of the French language and culture as well as the theme of each camp. Two weeks ago was our Art camp, this week is Mythology and next week will be our LEGO camp. We will also have a "Pirates" camp at Alexandria, VA.

You can find all the details at the following link:
http://frenchacademy.us/french-for-kids-and-teens/french-youth-camps/index.html

Children are loving it and we are as well!

My son did rennasaince art centers Lego camp in Gaithersburg last week. He really liked it. I wish I had known there was NO outside time. They are in front of a computer all day.

My 9 and 11 year olds just finished their first week of the summer at Camp Kids Place in Arlington (Cherrydale Baptist). They had a great time. We've been there for several years and it's my 11 yr old DS's favorite camp. He'll be there for 6 weeks this summer. 9 yr old DD prefer outdoorsy and art-focused camps so she's just doing a couple weeks at Kids Place.

My daughter just finished up junior aquatics "A" swim camp at the YMCA on Rhode Island Ave. NW - she said she really liked it and it seemed quite well-organized and run. Relatively cheap too - $450 for two weeks (plus $90 aftercare for the two weeks).

My kids are attending the Children's Center for Language and Culture summer camp. It is located in Vienna/Oakton VA. The teachers and Director are all great. It is a fantastic little school and the camp curriculum incorporates fun indoor and outdoor activities. My kids attend the after-school Spanish Immersion classes during the school year and they are really looking forward to their 1-week camp at the end of this month. If you are looking for French and Mandarin, they will be offering those too come fall!!

5 to DS is loving Burgundy Farm. Our 1st time there and I'm very happy with it. Swimming every day, feeding the animals, music, arts & crafts, computer lab, lots of outside time. Would definitely do it again next year.

Valley Mill has been a huge hit, just like it was last year.

My preschooler loved his week at Audobon, but I thought the teachers were disorganized and not very experienced.
