I looked at the property records for Sekas houses that are the same model and have already been built. It seems like it's probably around 3600 SF above-grade and the rest is finished basement space.

Sekas has a lot of experience building new houses quickly in existing neighborhoods. That means his crew won't be a nuisance and they'll finish up relatively soon. The price is also good for a new house in that area - Stanley Martin is now selling new houses for $1.5-1.9 million a few blocks away.

I don't think the property will necessarily be seen as tainted, because what's been reported clearly suggests that whatever happened at that site was unique to what the former owner did - or did not do - with the property after buying it back in 2006. He clearly had an antagonistic relationship with some neighbors, and he also reportedly had financial problems. The fact that the neighborhood otherwise has many expensive new homes suggests another builder would not have similar problems.

That's not defensive, just my assessment. Maybe you had some personal connection to the property that makes you want to paint a different picture of what happened?
