I first heard the name Arden when I was introduced to an adult Arden. I thought it was so weird at first but now it's growing on me and I really like it!

I think that's how it works for all names. Unfamiliar names seem odd but, once you know someone, the name becomes as common to you as John or Jane.

Not personally, but there was once a lady in the newspaper who was named:

Phoebe P. Peabody Bebe.

Say that out-loud, fast.

I hate that these threads always turn into light making fun of lower socio-economic status AA names. As if we're not familiar with the concept of this already...do we really need to ridicule people just to get a laugh at how black and (likely) poor they are? Come on.

A little girl named Poe. I asked Poe's mom if her daughter was named after Edgar Allen and without hesitation, she said, "it's Peace on Earth."

Also:

- Colby, like the cheese.

- Ransom. As in held for...
