What are they supposed to call it?
I call it a rash guard because that's what it's called. I'm supposed to make up another name for it just because my kid doesn't surf?
If you're not a hipster mom, or if your child is not a toddler, or if your child is a toddler but wears it in the regular pool, then it's ok for you to call it a rash guard.

It's easy to get this on the stomach because you coat your board in wax for grip. Obviously that amount of grip can cause abrasions to your torso when you slide up and down on the board.
You can also get it on your inner thighs, armpits, etc.
As for the poster that asked about Sex Wax, Sex Wax is a specific brand name of surfboard wax. It was picked because it is catchy, and obviously since non-surfers know it by name, they chose well.

I also dislike when everyone is branded "hipster" moms. I doubt the PP would know a hipster if she was getting tattooed in front of her.

Why "hipster" moms specifically? Are they the ones who care about their kids getting sunburns?

I've seen it called a "rashie" on this site. [vomit]
