They used to be. Back in the day we got fresh pastries every morning and had to throw out the leftovers every PM. This was late 90s.

Yes! I worked at Starbucks over the summers of '93-95. We used to donate the leftovers to a food bank. They were totally freshly made by some bakery. Those were the days of "cup management" and a lot fewer drinks. Ahhhh, the good old days of the 90's...

I am still pissed at them for changing the yogurt and getting rid of the cherry flavor.

New banana bread is gross. I've been addicted to Starbucks banana nut bread for six years now (don't eat it often but love it!) and the new stuff sucks. Ordered a carrot pecan muffin and it looked like a hockey puck... everything looks so prepackaged. At least they faked it before!

La Boulange is a chain from the bay area. I like the pastries much better than before.

Ugh, I'm disappointed to hear this. I really liked the old sandwich, but haven't tried the new on yet. I guess I probably shouldn't bother.

When I walk into a Starbucks downtown during the summer, I'm not paying for a god damn drink. I'm paying for the god damn A/C to be on full blast.

I never had the delusion of them being fresh though, I know they're trucked in. But they at least tasted more fresh before and like a PP said, they were never served in a plastic wrapper. Yesterday I asked for a croissant and it was wrapped in plastic like a ho ho. The flower shaped sugar cookies are really good though.

I hate, hate, hate their new pastries. Their old ones were so much better.

I still love their protein box but don't touch the other stuff anymore.
