Naot sandals. Found out about them here--eternally grateful!

Athletic shoes==My Asics Gel Cumulus. Like walking on a pillow.
Non-athletic shoes--Ecco. I can walk all day in their pumps, and the sandals are great, too.

For me:

Dansko clogs
Naot sandals
Born boots and sandals

A combination of these plus occasional stretching has kept my chronic plantar faciitis at bay for over a year. I find them all more comfortable and more supportive than tennis shoes, though I like my Asics gels for running or working out.

I like Saucony's if I know I'm going to do a ton of walking that day.

For everyday walking around the neighborhood, etc. I recently bought a pair of Vionic flip flops that I like. They're actually cute and don't look like orthotics but have plenty of support.

Sneakers with custom made orthotics. Expensive but worth it.

Anonymous wrote:I have some Danskos that I can walk forever in, and I also love my wood-soled clogs. I wear a lot of Sven clogs, some Swedish Hasbeens, some other brands.

I get really bad tendonitis if I wear soles that are too soft.

My Dankso clogs are the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned. Maybe they're good for standing around, but more than a couple steps and I wish I could get that money back.

I have a narrow foot, high arch (yet low volume), and really prefer / need very flexible soles. My feet are happiest barefoot though.

running shoes: New Balance
athletic sandals: Keen Whisper
sandals: Privos by Clark
casual flats: Keen boat shoes, Anne Klein Flex driving mocs
dress flats: Van Eli, Cole Haan, Ecco
summer heels (2.75" or lower): Coach (even at 50% off they were at the top end of my price range, but oh, so comfy. I am now spoiled!), Anne Klein Flex
heels: Cole Haan, Rockport

I had a pair of these and thought the sole was too hard. Even after a few years; it never softened enough to be comfortable. I eventually got rid of them.

It must be foot-dependent (as all shoes are, I guess.) I've been buying them for five years, and I wear them pretty much 100% of my non-work time.
