I am white.

Bath poof for my body. I don't care if you're a microbiologist, I need to EXFOLIATE in the shower or I get dry skin and little bumps on my legs/arms. I use castille soap, so I'm probably nicer to my skin flora than most people.

Washcloth (clean one every time) for my genitals, which yeah, also need some extra care because of bumps and possible ingrown hairs. I had a bartholin cyst once and NEVER AGAIN, my friends.

DH is Asian and uses a washcloth (he has an extra-long one that's the popular size/shape in Asia).

Yes, white, raised by Europeans.

Amazed by the number of people who assume washcloth users don't use a fresh washcloth every time. They can be bought cheaply and easily launder.

As a kid I kept "an emergency washcloth" on the bathtub ledge in the corner for when I got shampoo in my eyes, but that hasn't happened in YEARS. Decades really. She said everyone she knows who's black uses a washcloth in the shower.

Do you? If so, what race are you?
Ding ding! We have a another winner. Top ten of the dumbest threads ever!

What is this with you people and dirty asses?

I have to admit that I don't even understand the washcloth thing - it's such a waste! I used one on the kids when they were babies and couldn't wash themselves. I'll use one if I need to scrub something off (like bicycle grease, etc.) Otherwise, I use liquid soap and my hands. Quick, efficient and not wasteful.

I'm white, age 43. Neither my hubby, nor I, use washcloths. We also don't use bar soap.

Both sets of our parents, when visiting, freak out when they can't find a bar of soap or a washcloth.

I'm white and I use one. My husband is black and he uses one, too. A clean one for each shower.

Same here. Grew up with them. Washcloths are so cumbersome, floppy and ineffectual compared to the poofy nylon scrubby things.

White- Don't use washcloths in the shower. Sometimes I use one washing my face, but it's usually just my hand of the clarisonic. In the shower I use one of those nylon cloths.

I use a washcloth on DD during her baths.

.

What? Your husband washes his genital area with a washcloth every time he poops?

I would be interested to know if it was location rather than race that influences this.

Husband and mother (both from Europe) use wash cloths. I was raised here and don't.

Kids use them only to keep their eyes dry when rinsing hair in the bath.

What about hankies? Again - European family uses them - most Americans don't.
