Yes - had them for 5 years. Sun glasses styles change less frequently than glasses. Just go classic.

No not designer ones. I usually wear contacts but will not spend more just to have a designer name on them.

I have a pair of Barton Perreira glasses that I love. They were obscenely overpriced, but they are from a time when I had money. If I had the money now, I would buy another pair. I don't wear jewelry, and glasses are front and center on my face (I think my classmates from preschool onward mostly think of me as my glasses...).

I had Burberry for some years, but they did not flatter me in the least. I need heavy frames for my ridiculous prescription. I only wish I could look attractive in glasses. The eyeglass case was nice. So, I advise buying what looks good and to ignore the designer status. Buy several pairs if the look is flattering, because they might be impossible to find later.

PS, where might I find clip-on shades? (to go with my eccentric brainy look)?

I'm trying Warby Parker this time - just sent my order for the 5 to try yesterday! I've had glasses all my life and there's no telling which ones will last and get you the most compliments

Unless you're mega rich, I'd not pay attention to labels. Just get what suits you.

No, I wear $100 Warby Parker glasses. I've worn glasses for 30 years and have worn the $500 types. But PP is right that they all are manufactured similarly and cost the same whole sale. (That's right - your $800 "designer" frames really cost less than $20 to produce. The rest is profit.)
