Some people don't like it because they would prefer not to work from home that frequently. (What they would really like is to be able to work from home a couple days a week AND have their own office).

Independent contributor here -- those of us in cubicles also have telework arrangements.

$110 and an office with window. I've always had one even when I started (i did share for 5 years though). I'm very very lucky, my counterparts at other companies all have cubes.

I sit in a cube. I don't care about the privacy b/c my company has "phone booths" where you can make private calls. The noise of other people is horribly, horribly distracting to me as I have ADD. But everyone has cubes, and nothing can be done.

Started off making 42k with a window office that was 15x15. Now I make 80k and sit in a cube. Joy.

I work for a very large company and the corporate standard is cubes. For everybody. The guy who is the head of my division (probably has 4-5,000 people under him at makes at least 500K), sits in a cube. It's a bit difficult for managers because we are expected to do 1:1's and other meetings and it's getting exceedingly hard to find conference rooms, but otherwise no complaints. You do lave to learn to tune things out (I use headphones).

H makes $100k and sits in an open concept group office with 7 people.

I'm not the poster you quote here but when companies sponsor H1B employees they must post notice, along with salary, in a public place in the office. So everyone knows.

Also, company cannot pay the H1b worker a salary that is less than the prevailing wage as set by the DOL, based on education and experience required for that particular job. That's to prevent companies from exploiting foreign workers and paying them less.
