Yep, we write checks both monthly and one-offs: school stuff, activities, HOA, gifts, etc.

The only things I write checks for anymore are the maid and political contributions.

Rarely, but when I do it's usually for school stuff.

OP here. That's correct. My kids are 20 and 23.

The only money order I've had to use so far this year was when I paid my state taxes on April 15th.

I paid my taxes with an echeck. You didn't need to pay for a money order.

I used TurboTax and filed in Missouri... there was no echeck option like there was for my federal taxes.

Yes, for rent and stuff like Girl Scout cookies, or if I owe a family member or friend for some incidental stuff. They're handy. I like having a checkbook.

If I owe someone money I write a check unless I have the cash, but if it's over $40 or it's going to be a check I am afraid.

+1 I rarely pay with checks (pay rent by e-transfer with Wells Fargo, online bill pay for utilities, credit card payments when there is no fee) but will always pay by check if there's a fee. Also, when I get random bills from something insurance didn't fully pay and the bill doesn't have clear instructions on how to pay online. Also, yearly membership dues for an organization I am a member of. They had a write-in for my credit card info, but I am not mailing that.

My bank doesn't charge for money orders. We used one for a real estate deposit when a personal check was not allowed.

More often than I like. Our landscaper wants checks, so do many people for deposits on things like birthing classes. I wish I could PayPal everyone.

Yes. Weekly to church for the collection and monthly to the daycare. Also for one off things like when insurance doesn't cover $3.45 of some random lab charge.

Checks only. Had a big screw up with online payment and not worth the problems it caused
