Yes I do, but not at that price level. More like the $3-5k range. I choose things carefully and enjoy wearing them. If you can afford it, why not?

I'm planning on getting the smaller one in white gold and diamonds. Go for it. Then let's be friends and drink champagne to celebrate. I love edgy glam, it appeals to my goth/punk tendencies.

Yes, you're right, there are other pieces I love that are less expensive but there are others I love which are more expensive. I would hate to buy a piece as a replacement and still pine for the JuC bracelet. I do see your point of view, believe me.

My husband just sent the nicest email imploring me to do something for me without worrying about the cost for once in my life. If I don't change my mind before the weekend arrives I'm going to do just that.

Some of you are completely missing the point of the thread. the op isn't asking if you like her intended choice in jewelry. Obviously she's been wanting this for a long time. I know someone with the smaller one and it is lovely.

This is quite a thread. I'm not sure I'd ever have enough money to justify buying myself a $40k bauble for my wrist.
I'm all for buying things I like for myself, but $40k, and you don't even get any built-in sentimentality? Maybe OP could at least have her DH hand over the credit card so it can be a gift from him?
Agree super-luxury cars are a waste, but at least they get you somewhere; McMansions are a waste, but at least they provide shelter from the rain.
What does a heavy bracelet get you other than maybe carpal-tunnel?

I understand the argument that at least you'll have something that's small and low maintenance but I don't buy those pieces because at least 90% of the cost is for the label "Cartier" (or "Rolex"). I bet you could find something at a goldsmith, or maybe even on etsy, that is nicer at a tiny fraction of the cost.
