Snap N Go - loved for snapping in infant seat, never had to wake baby, ran lots of errands this way, big basket

Peg Perego Si - full recline, sun shade that went all the way down to hips, telescoping handles, big basket, one-hand open and close, standing fold

Cheapie umbrella stroller from BRU - light weight for travel but that's about it, terrible sunshade that might as well not be there, no basket, doesn't push well

Get snap n go plus car seat until you know what you want need. As a FTM I also obsessed about strollers and it was all for nothing, as we don't use it much at all.

Agree with the poster that said to start backwards and identify how you will use your stroller. Once you determine your needs, it'll be easier to sort through all the options.

We used a snap and go set-up for the first six to seven months and then transitioned to the bugaboo bee. Here's why we selected the bee:
-needed something with great maneuverability for daily walks around the city and with enough storage space underneath for supplies, baby bag, light groceries, etc.
-takes up very little space; I don't even bother to fold it up and it fits into a little corner within our 1200 square foot condo.
-lightweight so I can easily transport it from condo to car, up stairs if needed, onto buses, etc.
-seemed very comfortable for a toddler and given our DC's stature, we can use the stroller until she's 4, maybe even 5. (we've had the bee for two years now and it shows very little signs of wear and tear).
-adjustable handle to accommodates both DH and me. I'm 5'2" and he's 5'11".
-as an fyi, the seat can face in or out and it's an easy "switch" to do...
-added bonus was we liked the design.

Have a Cruz and G-Luxe and honestly not crazy about either.

Cruz hasn't held up so well over the past 2 years -- brake isn't working now. It does have nice features, but given the weight, we don't use it much now. We mainly use the G-Luxe, which is fine, but nothing special in my view. If I could go back, I'd consider the City Mini or Britax B-Agile.

Curious - Why did you retire the Cruz at only 7 months? You stopped using it for the GLuxe?

Yes, exactly. We started doing a ton of int'l travel and the Cruz - great as it is - is about 16 pounds and not ideal for constant air travel. The G-Luxe has been perfect for that. And the BOB is what we starting using for walks and runs at that point, which made the Cruz obsolete. But it was fabulous when DD was an infant. So comfy (we bought the extra seat pad), so smooth, so awesome with the whole reversible seat. I recommend all three. Although one downside was that I never did have a Snap n Go for my car seat. As an FTM I didn't understand how valuable that was. But by the time I figured it out I couldn't justify a 4th stroller!

Another fan of the UppaBaby Cruz here. I like the reversible seat, the option to lay it flat so an infant can sleep, and the roomy under-seat basket. Mine has a cupholder that works fine, but I think I had to pay extra for it (UppaBaby really gets you on the accessories). Once DC was sitting up, we got the UB G-Luxe as our umbrella stroller, and we love our BOB for taking DC running. The other stroller post got me thinking. Is there a lightweight stroller with a seat that can face in or out that also reclines like the non-modern strollers (whole seat tilts back with knees/legs going up; bugaboo, uppababy)? I'd like a seat that reclines with a foot rest that goes up, meaning it'd be pretty flat (not just my baby's head laying back still in a seated position). I'm posting from my phone , sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Also, if you think you'll have a second kid you should consider add-on boogie boards. We have an old Citi Mini and they didn't initially offer one, I think they do now but folks don't generally care for it much. It would have been helpful for our older kid when the second was little, though.

I have the Britax B-Agile (bought because we liked the Britax car seat). I think I'm going to ditch it soon for an umbrella stroller (I'm looking at a bunch - Gluxe, Chicco Echo, Inglesina Trip, Combi Cabria - way too many options).

I wish I'd just bought the Uppababy Cruz, though. I think I would really like having the baby facing me.

We have a City Versa for daily commuting and walks. I like that it faces both ways, can be folded one-handed with the seat facing either way, has a good basket, has an adjustable handle for adults of different heights, and has handled well after over a year in snow, rain, bumps, etc.

We also have a First Years Ignite umbrella stroller, which we use for travel or when we need to be able to fold up the stroller smaller than the Versa. It's taller than the really cheap umbrellas, so it doesn't do a number on your back and folds easily. It was also only about $50, so it was pretty affordable.

We have:

-A snap and go frame that a friend gave us for free. Handy in the first months, otherwise not a fan.

-A single stroller that I use for jogging, but am otherwise also not a fan of (a Chicco S3, still not sure what crack we were smoking to get it).

-An Uppa GLite. LOVE this one. Easy handling, light, great for travel.

-A BOB Revolution Duallie. We haven't used it much, as our second is not quite six months old, but I can't wait until he's old enough so I can take both kids running. Wooooo!

We do a lot of walking in the neighborhood, and the single is fine for that. The best stroller for you totally depends on how you'll use it, there is no one perfect stroller for everyone.

Chicco also has some nice umbrellas which I should have considered. The BOB is our neighborhood stroller as it's easier to push and handles bumps nicely. We live in the suburbs and walk in our neighborhood for exercise, quick grocery errands, and Chipotle. We use the Uppababy for everything else. When he was smaller and we weren't driving somewhere (and often even if we were driving), we used a baby carrier a lot. Start another thread for those if you're interested!

No single stroller can meet every conceivable need, just as not every car or shoe can meet every need... But you can find one (or two) that cover almost all your needs, and you can compromise the rest of the time.

make a list of your must haves. Watch what others push, and see what features and models strike your fancy.

we felt that:

for infant, should adapt to car seat,and then grow with child,
be smallish and lightweight for car trunk and small urban storage space
be narrow, for easy downtown maneuvering in and out narrow doorways,
recline most of the way, but didn't need all the way,
have a bit of storage underneath,
have a cover, even better if had a vinyl "window" to see toddler below.

we started off with chicco of some sort, burned through two, and decided to shell out $100 more for comparable maclaran which we then used through child #2.

we are avid city walkers. Worked for us!
