Definitely has plane noise -- anyone saying no doesn't know the area at all!!!!!

I like the whole thing -- staging and all. My biggest complaint would be the useless garages. Very hard to actually maneuver a car in to either of those bays.

One of the best jobs on finishes I have seen in a long time. It has a cosy feel despite being a big house. $2.95 is steep but doesn't really seem out of line for the area, size and quality.

I love he Palisades because it has the benefits of the burbs: leafy, green, fresh, pretty but has old landscaping and large old trees. AND the city as in it is easy to get everywhere: downtown, Capital Hill, Maryland, Virginia, all three airports, two major hospitals, and out of town. I don't particularly find metro to be efficient or good or clean in Washington and prefer not to use it often but, if I need to, I can grab it in Tenley town. I prefer cabs and Huber both of which are very easy to get in Palisades and I can afford it. The neighbors are warm and friendly. There is a wide variety of folks due to stick in not only SF houses, but also apartments, condos, and some assisted living facilities for the elderly. There are the super rich sections with gorgeous houses and more affordable areas. There are really good restaurants: Kotobuki, Et Voila, Boat house, Macados, Black Salt, Listranis.; several great private schools for all ages and a great public elementary. Palisades has lots of field space for kids to play games and is very functional for exercise: flat long roads and yet lots of hills. Battery Kemble Park is gorgeous and used by everyone in the neighborhood, and it is safe. Our vet is here as is our dentist. Basically perfection as far as I am concerned but of course, not for everyone.

MS bad but a sincere effort is underway to fix that. HS is Wilson which is a mixed bag.

Very nicely done, appears loaded with custom mill work that could run $500k on its own. The hardscaping around the pool/patio is top notch too, looks like good quality flagstone/pavers. I abhor the sliding fence door, makes the place look like an embassy compound.

The interior is a bit too Restoration Hardware for my tastes but totally apropos for the wealthy families that move into that neighborhood. Lots of double-lawyer households, doctors at Georgetown, etc. I'd take the area over North Arlington any day.

I'm not PP, but I'd prefer the closer-in parts of Petworth to the Palisades. But of course, there's a lot of DC in between. Just about anywhere between Connecticut Ave. and Georgia Ave. (and I'd prefer to be south of Irving Street or so) would be less sucky than the Palisades. Why even bother living in the District?
