I find this sort of definitive view weird. OP, I think it's important to determine if you think Montessori would be a good fit for YOUR child. TR is a good school with a proven track record and established connections and procedures. Having a more mature school model could be worth something. Then again, if you're comfortable with a little uncertainty, Lee might be a good
bet. You probably can't go wrong with either.

Two rivers, no question. Love the kind of projects those kids do. Students I know there are very well spoken and mature, as well as inquisitive.

Lee. Montessori is best.

FYI Lee said at its open house that they are hoping to expand to 8th grade and will file a charter amendment when they get closer to needing to do so in a few years. OP, if I were in your shoes, I'd think about whether Montessori seems like a good fit in the long-term (i.e., into elementary school, not just the primary years), unless I had a good in-boundary school to fall back on.

TR is not moving--they are opening a second campus, which as far as I can tell is a lot less Metro-friendly. (But that's from Google maps, so I may be off.)

I commute to 2R from Petworth. Its not too bad. Drive is direct down North Capitol St, and make a left by the NPR building to avoid the mess at the Florida Ave/NY ave intersection. Takes 15 minutes on a good day-up to 25 if things are really backed up. By train is also easy, take the green line north one stop to Fort Totten, switch to the Red-and its only a few stops to NOMA.

Hmm, the commute to Two Rivers could be OK but it depends on where you work. If you work on the east side of downtown I think you would be fine (Union Station or the Hill), but going east to west downtown after Two Rivers dropoff would suck. The intersection of NY Ave/Fla/North Capital is horrific also.

If the choice were mine I would pick Two Rivers, but I would test your commute first.
