Will was my favorite character, so I'm sorry he's gone. At first I felt like his and Alicia's story arc was left incomplete and would have preferred for them to get back together with full realization that they were meant to be and then have him get killed.

But on second thought-- and seeing in the previews where the writer's are taking this-- I think it may be far more interesting to see her grieve in the face of this realization and lack of resolution. That's far less trite. In that preview scene with her and Peter in the kitchen, she showed such fury and suffering. In a way, she already experienced a shocking, sudden end of love/relationship with Peter's sex scandal, so it'd be interesting to see her process the comparison of the two losses.

Yup, and it doesn't need to be about which man she chooses.
I found a lot about this episode unsatisfying. But I don't think the kid shooting others is the way this would go in real life or TV land. And I don't think they did a good job of wrapping up Will (this is like it is in real life but not usually in TV land). It's like the writers just got lazy because they knew they had a great shocking ending.

And about the DVRs not knowing when the Good Wife actually airs (it often starts late and runs over): really frustrating.
Sports happens. Be aware of it. I DVR the Mentalist. I barely know what it is and have never watched it, but I DVR it every week because it comes on after the Good Wife and CBS has football and basketball which can run over their allotted timeslots.

I never really felt Will and Alicia click, so it's not a great loss for me. I actually found Will's character to be weak and inconsistent. I do enjoy the show.

I hope OP gets bitten on the ass by 6000 fire ants. What a shitty thing to do. Media outlets said there was big stuff and even a death but to include the character's name in this thread is just SHITTY. I am mad.

I am sad he is dead. Now the show will be boring. Too bad.

OP,

Take this thread down already. You posted it within a half hour of the show watching and lots of people had the ending spoiled by you. So enough.

I'll add to PP:
The kid was Silas from Weeds. Blonde guy. Case where his DNA was found under the victim's fingernails. Kid was getting beaten up repeatedly in prison, but didn't want to go to solitary.

I do wonder who he was trying to shoot. Or if he only wanted to make a scene before (attempting to) killing himself.

Not sure if anyone answered you yet. Will was defending a man (almost a kid) who was accused of murder. He seemed to be cracking under the pressure of being in jail. While in court, the kid grabbed a policeman's gun and shot up the court room (I mean they didn't show him grab the gun, they showed him looking at it, next thing you see is outside the room and you hear gunshots). Will got hit.

The kid then tried to kill himself but he was out of bullets (I add this part, because I have to imagine they are going to do something with that kid to be more dramatic - do his parents try to get Alicia to defend him as being mentally insane?)

My DVR did not tape it right (the time was different) and I flipped to the channel just to see Will laying their dead. So when I watched in on Demand, I kept hoping I had seen a dream scene or something like that.

I think its a bad sign when the "scenes for the next 5 seasons" were boring. What a let down. It was really getting good this season. . I never understand why actors leave shows at their prime. Of course the irony is that the Juliete Margulies (sp?) left ER when it was still doing pretty well.

Yes, Will is definitely dead.
agree that OP should have warned with spoiler in the title.

I wanted it to be a dream sequence or something too.
Can't see the show lasting much longer without him. Such a shame; I really like the show.

They will make an attempt for another 2 seasons. I think Alicia and Diane will merge their companies.
