Yes. Kate and her sister, Pippa, single handedly brought back hose. When I started my Fed job in 1995 all women were required to wear them. I remember not doing it at times in the summer since I was very tan. Flash forward 19 years and jeezus has the dress code gotten horrible. People wear things I wouldn't even walk the dog in.



I was high SES in an agency from 1987-1991 and there were no dress codes requiring hose - but we did wear them of course.

Is this a regional thing to refer to “hose”? I’m from the Northeast and we always referred to them as stockings or pantyhose. Or even hosiery.

Just “hose” sounds so funny to my ear. Is this a southern thing, maybe?

I bought some not long ago. And, I wore them way back -probably before any of you. Barely There was my "go to" back in the day. i bought the hose because I was going to a wedding and my legs need them. Hanes sells toeless hose now which are good if you are wearing open toes.

The absolute worst though were those sheer white hose that were worn in late '80s. Terrible look.

NP I wear bare legs. Have gotten along just fine.

I used to wear Travel Buff in the 90s. It's not supposed to have a natural tone. It's supposed to be an alternative to white hose, kind of like a light putty color like one PP said. I used to wear it with black skirts.

Back in the day when I wore suit skirts a lot, it was my go-to color. If I had to go back to wearing skirt suits often, I'd go right back to it.
I would agree that it wouldn't look natural with some skin tones, but it works for my pasty skin.

Huh. Just looked this up & it's a weird color to me. Do those of you who like it have yellow undertones? I can't imagine they would look natural on me. I think I've recently worn the Barely There color and it was pretty close to natural for me.

Yes, fair enough. I don't have to wear them that frequently (but always in winter with pumps) so I go all out for a natural look. Before that, it's was Hanes Alive all shiny, never ran. Cringe! If only they made that strength, less shiny, for pale legs (is that what travel buff are)?
