I'm guessing that Montgomery County schools with 9/10 on great schools, and a minority of white students, have a large proportion of Asian students. Asians -- they're not white, but they're not non-white either...

Nope. This poster is well known for her views, and they all have to do with low SES and minority students. She conflates "low quality" with "low SES" and "black or Latino." Don't be an apologist for her, PP.

Don't listen to all of the hippy posters on here who talk about how diverse or international or wonderful or la la la it is. It's not. Move farther west in Montgomery County if a decent school is important to you.
FYI, for "decent" read "white" or "affluent," because that's what this poster means. This is actually one of her less offensive posts.
Not true. Don't talk about what you don't know about. I am from SS. Enough said. And btw, DD's school isn't even 1/2 white. But it's got excellent scores - 90th percentiles, 9/10 greatschools etc. Why is everything about race to you? Oh I know, probably because you aren't from a very diverse area originally so it's fascinating to bring up race all the time even though it's very tacky.

I disagree PP. The poster is talking school quality. Either the quality of the school is high or low, regardless of race. If there is a high quality school that isn't, as you say, not the Poster before you, "white" or "affluent," I believe that school would be recognized as such.

Okay, now tell me where are the diverse middle and high schools with 9 and 10's in Montgomery County? There are plenty at the elementary level, but not at the middle and high school levels.

Same Poster - Let's take a look at what greatschools has to say (versus DCUM - I pick great schools):
4/10, 5/10, or 6/10 - EVERY SINGLE MIDDLE SCHOOL IN ALL OF SS except the magnet school
4/10 or 5/10 - EVERY SINGLE HIGH SCHOOL except the magnet school and Blake. A girl stabbed somebody to death at Blake btw a few years ago. Sounds very safe to me.
Sure, some neighborhoods might have OK elementary schools. But the rest is crap. It just is what it is.

Wow! However, I'm not surprised. This is why I laugh when people think that Montgomery County is a utopia with progressive and open-minded people. The elitism and racism is so prevalent here.
