That's possible.
I thought that, but why get all misty with the "who misses their daughters wedding?" comment. Robin doesn't have kids.
I posted earlier too and I, too, can't believe how much I am analyzing this. I know that Robin can't have biological kids and they did that fake-out with the flash forward in Argentina where they were in the wrong room. But their dialogue about going to get the crying baby led me to believe that although that wasn't their baby, perhaps they really did have their own daughter at home. Maybe they adopted a baby. I don't know if the mother is dying or Robin but I just don't think it is going to end on a happy note.
There was an ep where the narrator (ted) says something like, "Robin never did go on to have kids..."

Anonymous wrote:I have some vague memory of reading or hearing that the writers always knew how the story was going to end (just not when), so they always wrote with the end in mind. It would make some sense that the mom dies, I guess, because it gives a reason for him telling the kids about her.

wondering this also. I only noticed the one in the future when the Mom said every woman needs her mom to walk her down the aisle and Ted cries. What were the others?

I haven't watched this show recently. So is this the last season?
