You’d be surprised at how true your statement is and it makes total sense, just not politically correct. Do you think a guy (any race) driving a newer SUV is a criminal? 99% aren’t but how about someone driving a 20 year old Honda? Much bigger chance.
Vast majority of criminals have little education which also translates to little if any money for a nice car.

I do not know about the rest of your list but I know that studies have shown that police officers stop black drivers more often than others.

Well, blacks in America commit most crimes at rates 2-5 times that of the white population. It's entirely possible that black drivers are getting pulled over because they're breaking traffic laws more.

It found that black drivers sped much more than other drivers, according to three people who have reviewed the unreleased report. There are other studies that find the same thing, but people don't like the results.

True. We drove crappy old cars when we lived in Manhattan and now in downtown DC. Park on the street. Only suburbanites think that a crappy car means that the person can’t afford a much nicer car.

One of my best friends is a car wholesaler. Sometimes he drives nasty looking older cars in his line of work. Maybe it's because of a dealer tag, but he hasn't been pulled over since the 80's. Or maybe he doesn't drive and do stupid things.

I drive a 21 yr old Honda Civic. I have never been stopped by the police for anything ever.
I also recently purchased a Tesla Model S P100D, this is the car with videos all over youtube drag racing and beating supercars, 0 to 60 in 2.3 secs. Haven't been stopped by the cops yet

Some things I've noticed- older cars spew a lot of exhaust. They shouldn't have legally passed the emissions inspections. They also are frequently going 5-10 miles under the speed limit which means to me that they're trying to cover up something and not get pulled over. Also the crappier the car the less likely to use turn signals.

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer and have never been stopped. It has about 158,000 miles on it, in good condition and I plan to keep it as long as it runs. It isn't pretty but no car payments.
