Any data to back that up? It looks like it was a party line vote in AZ. That sounds like more than fringe support.
It may have been initially, but some of the ones who voted for it were calling for a veto. So were members of Congress (not the AZ state congress).

Of course, not all gays are pedophiles and not all pedophiles are gay. But there still is an undeniable correlation. Look at all of the priest abuse scandals.
